
The Ames Youth Wrestling program is for boys and girls in grades K-8.
Beginning and veteran wrestlers alike will enjoy the benefits of this
program. Beginning wrestlers will learn the fundamental skills and
basics of wrestling; while more experienced wrestlers will build upon
their abilities. The Ames Youth Wrestling program aims to help participants
build strength, endurance, self-esteem, character and good sportsmanship.
Most importantly, we aim to have FUN.
Registration:
Thursday, November
1 in the Ames High wrestling room
(use the Athletic entrance) 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. If you are unable
to attend registration, please send in the form below with your payment.
Used equipment sale: If you have used equipment you do not need, bring
it to registration by 6:00 to sell.
Practices:
Beginning Monday, November 12, 2007 in the Ames High wrestling
room. Use the Athletic Entrance.

K – 2nd practice Mondays 6:15 – 7:00
p.m.

3rd – 8th practice Mondays 6:45 – 7:45
p.m. and Tuesdays 6:15-7:15 p.m.

K-8th have optional practices and
squad duals on various Thursdays (TBD) 6:15-7:15.

Kids should wear
a singlet or shorts & t-shirt. Street shoes
and bare feet are not allowed on the mat. Head gear is optional,
but recommended.

Practices will be run by high school wrestling
coaching staff and parent volunteers until March 13.
Fee:
$55/ wrestler; $100/family maximum. Fee includes club t-shirt,
entry into the Little Cyclone Youth Wrestling Tournament in February,
end-of-year pizza party, admission to one ISU home wrestling dual (club
event), admission (with paid adult) to all Ames High home wrestling
duals. If you order extra t-shirts, please enclose appropriate amount
from below.
